Grammar of the Wind, 2026Taoyuan (TW)
Stainless steel, buoyancy, nets and fishing floats
Located along the western coast of Taoyuan, where land gives way to sea, the work draws inspiration from the coastal windbreak species Casuarina equisetifolia (木麻黃), planted to temper coastal climates and make the shoreline inhabitable. The installation comprises a series of lightweight mobiles made from locally found marine debris, buoyancy, nets and fishing floats. Through subtle movement and playful engagement, the work invites attentiveness to the wind—like a wetted finger held to the air, sensing the invisible forces that shape the coast.
